TED Talk: Ink made of Air Pollution

Inventor Anirudh Sharma created AIR-INK, a usable black ink that’s made from pollution.

In his TED talk, Sharma explains how he developed technology that can capture pollution and use it for good. His machine captured about 95% of the pollution produced by a diesel generator. After running the generator for 415 minutes and capturing its emissions, he shows the audience the pen ink he was able to develop from this process.

AIR-INK now accepts and incentivizes companies across the world to send them their captured pollution (PM 2.5) to be used for developing pen ink and other similar products.

Carbon-based materials could disrupt age-old processes in industries like fashion, printing and packing.
