According to a new analysis by Gartner, a technology research and consulting firm, 40% of AI data centers won’t have enough power to function fully in 2025 without additional energy sources added to the grid. Demand from data centers is expected to double by 2027. Companies like Meta and Microsoft are investing in nuclear power to meet energy needs, but power shortages and rising costs could persist, complicating efforts to reduce carbon emissions and fueling climate concerns.
